The Foundation Olmec Claro Grande originates from San Andrés, Mexico, where master blender Nick Melillo developed it as a tribute to the region’s tobacco heritage and the Olmec civilization. This cigar features a Mexican San Andres Claro wrapper combined with a Mexican binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. The filler leaves undergo a three-year bale-aging process before rolling.
Measuring 6" x 60, the Olmec Claro Grande utilizes a San Andrés Valley-grown wrapper known for its earthy aroma. The blend incorporates Nicaraguan Jalapa and Estelí fillers alongside a Mexican binder. Initial flavors present almond and cedar notes with mild spice, transitioning to earthy leather tones mid-smoke. The Mexican Claro wrapper contributes subtle sweetness that balances the Nicaraguan filler’s peppery undertones.
