Foundation Olmec Claro Toro originates from master blender Nick Melillo’s exploration of Mexico’s San Andrés tobacco region. The cigar honors both the area’s agricultural legacy and the Olmec civilization, known for early tobacco cultivation between 1600-400 BCE. Its composition features a Mexican San Andrés Claro wrapper with a golden hue, paired with a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos aged three years in bales prior to rolling.
Measuring 6" x 52, the Toro format delivers a 90+ minute smoking session. The Claro wrapper contributes mild yet distinct characteristics compared to darker San Andrés variants. Internal blends combine Nicaraguan and Mexican leaves selected for complementary flavor development. Initial draws reveal creamy wood and almond tones transitioning to earthier base notes, with later stages introducing coffee accents and restrained spice.
Construction emphasizes functionality through straight burn lines and consistent airflow. The medium-bodied profile positions Olmec Claro Toro as an approachable option for midday smoking sessions. Pairing compatibility extends to brown spirits like aged rum or whiskey, with coffee serving as a non-alcoholic alternative.
