Regal Cigarettes

Regal Cigarettes launched in 1969 as a British premium tobacco brand under Imperial Tobacco. Originally named Embassy Regal Filter, the product gained strong popularity in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and northern England through coupon-based promotions that ran until 1999. Regal Cigarettes transitioned production from Nottingham to facilities in Germany and Poland after the UK factory closed in 2014. Available in king size and regular filter formats, the brand maintains its premium positioning with upgraded packaging and expanded product lines like Regal Signature. This newer range includes rolling tobacco and factory-made cigarettes featuring redesigned blends for contemporary preferences, offered in Kingsize and Superkingsize variants.

During the 1990s, Regal Cigarettes utilized an advertising campaign starring a character named "Reg," whose humorous segments were discontinued after studies suggested unintended appeal to younger audiences. Imperial Tobacco specifically targets Scottish consumers with the Regal Signature line, emphasizing regional market preferences. The brand's sister product Embassy retains stronger recognition in southern England.
