NUB cigars were developed by the Oliva family based on the concept that a cigar's optimal flavor profile occurs between 3½ to 4 inches in length. All NUB cigars measure under 4 inches with ring gauges ranging from 56 to 66.

The construction features densely packed tobacco within the short format, resulting in extended burn times comparable to traditional-sized cigars. This design maintains consistent combustion characteristics despite the reduced length.
