Seven Stars Cigarettes

Seven Stars Cigarettes launched on February 1, 1969, as the first Japanese cigarette brand to incorporate a charcoal filter. The product line utilizes domestically blended tobaccos sourced primarily from local leaf tobacco. Between 1975 and 1977, the original Seven Stars soft pack held the highest sales position before being surpassed by its derivative Mild Seven (now Mevius). The brand regained its top sales ranking in 2008. Seven Stars cigarettes are available in multiple variants differentiated by tar and nicotine levels: Seven Stars Original (14mg tar, 1.2mg nicotine), Seven Stars 10 BOX (10mg tar, 0.8mg nicotine), Seven Stars 7 BOX (7mg tar, 0.6mg nicotine), Seven Stars 4 (4mg tar, 0.4mg nicotine), and Seven Stars Prime Leaf 12 (12mg tar, 1.1mg nicotine).
Additional variants include Seven Stars Black Impact, Menthol, Lights Menthol, Black Charcoal Menthol, Revo Lights Menthol, and Revo Super Lights. The brand sponsors motorsports through its collaboration with the Seven Star Honda team, which won the Suzuka 8 Hours motorcycle race in 2004 and 2005. While primarily sold in Japan, Seven Stars cigarettes have been available in Singapore, Austria, Ukraine, and Afghanistan. Unofficial sales in the Philippines occur via platforms like Lazada and Instagram retailers, though product authenticity verification is advised. Historical nicknames for the brand include "Seta" and "Bunta," with packaging updates maintaining the original star crimp design since 1969.
