Jps Cigarettes

JPS Cigarettes launched in the UK in 1970 as a British tobacco brand under Imperial Tobacco. The John Player Special product line includes JPS Real Red with full-strength tobacco available in King Size and Superkings formats, JPS Bright featuring a smoother blend for lighter taste preferences, and JPS Green Filter developed as a non-menthol alternative post-UK menthol ban. JPS New Crush incorporates a crushball capsule technology to deliver menthol-like flavor activation, while John Player Special Legendary Black maintains its signature black packaging design. These JPS cigarettes utilize Virginia tobacco blends and cellulose acetate filters across all variants, distributed in packs of 20 sticks through UK retailers.

Originally established in 1877 by John Player in Nottingham, the JPS brand gained recognition through 1970s motorsport sponsorships. While primarily available in the UK market, John Player Special products also reach consumers in Ireland and Greece through regulated tobacco distribution channels. The current JPS cigarette range adapts to modern regulations including reduced ignition propensity (RIP) paper and standardized packaging laws.
