Description

The Foundation The Tabernacle Broadleaf Torpedo features a Nicaraguan and Honduran filler blend bound by a Mexican San Andres binder, wrapped in an oily USA Connecticut Broadleaf leaf. This combination creates flavors of dark chocolate, earth, leather, and spice. Produced at AJ Fernandez’s Tabacalera Fernandez factory, the 4½" x 52 torpedo shape concentrates smoke through its tapered head.

Construction & Burn Characteristics

The Connecticut River Valley-grown Broadleaf wrapper contributes to the cigar’s dark appearance and slow combustion. Flawless construction ensures an even burn with steady smoke output, maintaining consistent flavor delivery without relights.

  • Core Flavors: Dark chocolate, espresso beans, cured leather
  • Secondary Notes: Oak wood, black pepper, baking spices
  • Strength Profile: Full-bodied with nicotine intensity

Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa regions amplify the earthy base, while Honduran leaves add sweetness to balance the San Andres binder’s spice. The tapered foot allows gradual flavor intensification, progressing from cocoa-forward openings to peppery final thirds.

This Tabernacle Broadleaf Torpedo pairs effectively with barrel-aged spirits, particularly bourbons or añejo rums, due to its robust flavor density. Cold fermentation coffee complements the cigar’s espresso undertones.
