The Foundation Olmec Claro Robusto originates from a tobacco-buying expedition to Mexico’s San Andres region, where brand founder Nick Melillo sought to honor both the area’s agricultural history and the Olmec civilization. This 5” x 50 robusto features a Mexican San Andres Claro wrapper with a golden hue, a Nicaraguan binder, and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Mexico. The filler leaves undergo a three-year bale-aging process prior to rolling.
The blend delivers initial notes of cedar and earth, followed by almond sweetness and subtle spice. Mid-smoke transitions reveal nutmeg and coffee undertones. The combustion properties include an even burn and consistent draw, supported by precise construction. The medium-bodied profile pairs effectively with coffee or aged rum.
