Description

Released in 2002 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Columbus's arrival in Cuba, the Cohiba Siglo VI Cigar completes the Siglo series. This Robusto Extra measures 150mm in length with a 52-ring gauge, featuring a Corojo tobacco wrapper grown in Cuba's Vuelta Abajo region. The blend utilizes leaves from San Juan y Martínez and San Luis districts, fermented using Cohiba's proprietary double-fermentation process.

The construction includes:

  • Tripa (filler): Seco, Ligero, and Volado leaves aged 3 years
  • Capote (binder): Tapped leaves from El Corojo farm
  • Capa (wrapper): Selected 2000 vintage Corojo

Smoking characteristics reveal initial earth tones transitioning to roasted coffee bean and dark cocoa notes, sustained by a 90-minute combustion time. The ash maintains structural integrity for 25-30mm segments. Boxes contain 10 individually numbered cigars with triple-layer lacquered lids, maintaining 70-72% humidity through Spanish cedar construction.

As the final addition to the Siglo line, the Cohiba Siglo VI Cigar represents Habanos S.A.'s tribute to pre-Columbian tobacco traditions. Production occurs at the former El Laguito factory, where rollers complete each cigar using entubado bunching technique over 45 minutes.
