Released in 1994 to commemorate Padrón Cigars' 30th anniversary, the Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Torpedo Natural measures 6" x 52 with distinct box-pressed construction. Developed by José Orlando Padrón and his son Jorge, this cigar uses Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobaccos aged a minimum of four years.
The blend features:
- Sun-grown natural wrapper aged four years
- 100% Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos
- Traditional box-press technique inspired by vintage Cuban cigar styles
During combustion, the Torpedo Natural delivers cocoa and roasted coffee bean flavors transitioning to earthy undertones with hazelnut nuances. Sweet spice and caramel notes emerge mid-smoke, supported by a cedar character. The cigar maintains an even burn with cool smoke production through its tapered torpedo head.
Rated 93/100 by Cigar Aficionado, this vitola earned 2021 Cigar of the Year honors for its balanced profile combining leather, honey, and chocolate notes. The construction showcases Padrón's signature tight seams and consistent box-press angles across production batches.
