Developed by Kyle Gellis of Warped Cigars, the Warped Cocodrilo Corona Gorda draws inspiration from Cuba's crocodile-shaped Isla del Cocodrilo. This Nicaraguan-made cigar combines a core of Nicaraguan tobacco with double binders from Ecuador and Brazil, finished with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The 5 5/8" x 46 Corona Gorda format delivers a medium-bodied profile characterized by cedar and earthy tones, transitioning to subtle spice and vanilla in the final third.
The Warped Cocodrilo Corona Gorda features a slightly oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper enclosing a Nicaraguan binder from Aganorsa Leaf. The filler blend utilizes aged Nicaraguan tobaccos from Jalapa and Estelí regions. Construction details include:
- Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano (aged)
- Binder: Nicaraguan (Aganorsa Leaf)
- Filler: Nicaraguan long-leaf tobaccos
Initial flavors present cedar and white pepper, progressing to toasted nuts and cocoa mid-smoke. The final third reveals roasted coffee and leather notes, supported by a consistent combustion pattern. Smoke time averages 75-90 minutes, with ash retention demonstrating the cigar’s rolled density.
Packaged in 15-count boxes, the Warped Cocodrilo Corona Gorda uses tobaccos aged 3-5 years. The blend’s Nicaraguan foundation provides structured strength while maintaining balance through the Ecuadorian wrapper’s sweetness. This release continues Warped’s focus on small-batch production using Aganorsa-sourced materials.
