Hunters & Frankau commemorated their 225th anniversary with a limited production of 50,000 Ramon Allones 225 cigars packaged in numbered SLB boxes of 25. The collection includes a commemorative humidor designed to reflect the company's heritage in Cuban cigar trading since 1790.
Brand Historical Significance
The Ramon Allones brand was selected due to its direct connection to Hunters & Frankau's corporate history. In 1911, the company (then John Hunter, Morris & Elkan Ltd) acquired Ramon Allones' Havana factory and global trademark rights, maintaining UK distribution rights until 1927.
Production Specifications
All cigars were crafted at Partagas factory in Havana using a unique vitola:
- 141mm length with 50 ring gauge
- "Cabeza Tumbada" (Dropped Head) cap style
- Based on Gordito format with historical shape references
Manufacturing Process
Master blender Arnaldo Vichot developed two prototype blends evaluated by a Havana tasting panel in November 2012. The finalized blend underwent production between February-May 2013 by three senior torcedores. Post-roll, cigars underwent two years of controlled aging in UK warehouses prior to market release.
This Ramon Allones 225 Humidor edition represents Hunters & Frankau's longest continuous cigar trading operation, maintaining original brand specifications while incorporating anniversary-specific design elements.
