Released in 2002 as part of Columbus' 500th anniversary commemorations, the Cohiba Siglo VI completes the Siglo series lineup. This Robusto Extra format measures 150mm (5 7/8") with a 52 ring gauge, containing filler and binder tobaccos from Cuba's Vuelta Abajo region.
Construction Details
The Cohiba Siglo VI features a Corojo wrapper leaf enclosing aged tobacco leaves selected through Cuba's triple fermentation process. Cuban torcedores hand-roll these cigars using traditional techniques developed at El Laguito factory.
Flavor Profile
Initial draws reveal earthy base notes with coffee bean undertones progressing to:
- Cocoa powder mid-section
- Oak wood accents
- Subtle spice development
Smoke output remains consistent throughout the 90-minute smoking duration, with combustion characteristics showing even burn lines and stable ash formation.
Production Context
As Cohiba's thickest vitola in regular production, the Siglo VI uses leaves from San Juan y Martínez and San Luis plantations. The blend incorporates seco and ligero leaves from the same vintages used in Cohiba Behike cigars, though without Medio Tiempo leaf inclusion.
