This designation reflects the series' connection to traditional tobacco cultivation practices. The line maintains a production approach emphasizing natural leaf characteristics, avoiding artificial smoothing techniques in its construction.

Centrogordos refers to the second-highest layer of foliage on sun-grown and shade-grown tobacco plants, positioned directly below the Corona section. This mid-canopy placement allows the leaves to develop balanced combustion properties while retaining substantial flavor potential. The Vegueros Centrogordos Cigar utilizes these leaves in a 48 ring gauge format, combining them with filler tobaccos selected from Vuelta Abajo region harvests.
