Description

The Rocky Patel Grand Reserve Robusto debuted in April 2018 during the Mountain on Fire event in the Austrian Alps. This cigar remains exclusive to European markets, with distribution beginning in October 2018. Its blend incorporates aged tobaccos from Rocky Patel’s reserves, though specific components are undisclosed. Post-production, the cigars underwent a two-year aging process to refine their profile. Available in three vitolas, the line includes a Robusto (5.5" x 50), Toro, and Sixty (6" x 60).

Clad in an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a slight oily sheen, the Grand Reserve Robusto measures 5.5 inches in length with a 50-ring gauge. The binder and filler combine undisclosed tobaccos selected for balance and complexity. Initial flavors present cedar and earthy notes with mild pepper, transitioning to coffee, toasted almonds, and cocoa mid-session. Secondary hints of caramel and baking spices emerge, accompanied by cinnamon and nutmeg on the retrohale.

Construction features an even burn and consistent ash formation, with a draw optimized for steady smoke output. The medium-bodied strength caters to enthusiasts seeking structured yet approachable cigars. Tobacco origins include Nicaraguan and Honduran leaves, though exact ratios remain proprietary.

This vitola’s European exclusivity makes it a sought-after item for U.S. travelers. The extended aging process distinguishes it within Rocky Patel’s portfolio, emphasizing matured tobacco characteristics over aggressive strength.
