The Rocky Patel Conviction Toro measures 6½" x 52 with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper aged through the Terciario Cuban fermentation method. This dark, oily San Andrés leaf envelops a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from 2014 crop bales. The box-pressed format ensures optimal combustion geometry.
Production Process & Availability
Only four master rollers at Rocky Patel’s Nicaraguan factory craft these cigars, working in pairs to produce 250 units daily per team. Total daily output is capped at 500 cigars, with global distribution limited to 5,000 boxes containing 10 cigars each. Each unit undergoes multiple quality checks during the 9-year aging process.
- Wrapper: Fermented San Andrés leaf (24+ month process)
- Binder: Nicaraguan Corojo 99
- Fillers: Nicaraguan Criollo 98/Piloto Cubano hybrid
Flavor Profile & Performance
The combustion characteristics reveal a medium-plus strength profile with layered transitions. Initial notes of caramelized oak transition to espresso grounds and baker’s cocoa, supported by a persistent white pepper undertone. The ash maintains structural integrity for 1.5-2" segments, with smoke output measuring 38-42 cubic feet per minute in laboratory tests.
Final boxes feature sequential numbering from 0001/5000 to 5000/5000, with each cigar bearing dual authenticity bands. This release represents Rocky Patel’s first use of 2014-vintage filler tobaccos in a box-pressed format.
