Description

Established in 1973, the Quai D’Orsay brand was created for the French market and named after a Parisian avenue near SEITA’s former headquarters. Originally limited to Coronas in the UK, the brand expanded its lineup with two new sizes, including the Quai D’Orsay No.50, packaged in redesigned bands and boxes. Measuring 4 3/8” (110mm) with a 50-ring gauge, this Double Robusto shares dimensions with the Partagas Serie D No.5 but offers a lighter profile classified as Light to Medium by Habanos S.A.

Flavor and Construction

The Quai D’Orsay No.50 features a blend of Cuban tobacco that delivers initial creamy and woody notes, transitioning to roasted nuts, cocoa, and subtle spices. A faint floral undertone emerges in the final third, complementing its balanced strength. The cigar’s 50-ring gauge and compact format provide a steady burn, typically lasting 90 minutes.

  • Primary flavors: Creamy tobacco, cedar, natural sweetness
  • Mid-smoke: Roasted nuts, cocoa, light spice
  • Final third: Floral hints with consistent smoothness

Technical Specifications

Presented in boxes of 10, the Quai D’Orsay No.50 uses a Cuban-seed wrapper and binder. Its slow combustion stems from tightly packed filler leaves, ensuring minimal relights. The cigar’s 50-ring gauge contributes to a cooler smoke compared to thinner vitolas, while the 4 3/8” length maintains portability.
