The Por Larranaga Larranaga 47, designated as a UK Regional Edition, features a Churchill vitola measuring 178mm in length with a 47-ring gauge. Packaged in an unvarnished Semi Boîte Nature box containing 50 cigars, this release marks the first time a UK Regional Edition has utilized this format. The box design incorporates a recreated historical papeleta label from the brand's archives.
Packaging and Availability
Unlike standard 50-count cabinets, the cigars are arranged in three rows of 13 and one row of 11 without ribbon bundling. This configuration is recognized for optimizing medium-to-long-term aging conditions. Production was limited to 1,500 individually numbered boxes, allocated exclusively to the UK market.
Brand Heritage
Established in Havana by Ignacio Larranaga in 1834, Por Larranaga holds distinction as the oldest continuously produced handmade Habanos brand. While classified as light-to-medium bodied, the brand's cigars demonstrate notable aging potential. Previous UK Regional Editions like the 2007 Magnifico have achieved collector status.
Blend Characteristics
- Wrapper: Golden-hued Cuban-grown leaf
- Primary notes: Honey, cedar, and floral elements
- Secondary development: Toasted almond, cocoa powder, and baking spices
Construction Details
The cigar maintains an even burn line with consistent draw resistance. The open foot and triple-seam cap contribute to an average smoking duration of 45-55 minutes. The unvarnished box packaging allows gradual humidity exchange during storage.
