Description

The Plasencia Cosecha 151 La Tradición Toro commemorates the Plasencia family’s 151st tobacco harvest in 2016. This Honduran puro uses tobaccos exclusively grown on Plasencia-owned farms in Honduras. The Toro measures 5 7/8" with a 54-ring gauge, featuring a dark Honduran maduro wrapper aged for over 7 years. Beneath the wrapper lies a Honduran binder and filler leaves from the Jamastran and Talanga regions, fermented for 24-36 months.

The cigar’s flavor profile emphasizes earthy tones with espresso bitterness and dark cocoa sweetness, accented by roasted nuttiness and white pepper spice. The combustion characteristics include a consistent ash formation and steady burn rate, facilitated by the primed seco and viso leaves in the filler blend. Construction details reveal a triple-seam cap and box-pressed shape, reflecting Plasencia’s traditional rolling techniques perfected over six generations of tobacco cultivation since 1865.

Packaged in 10-count boxes with a production limit of 5,000 boxes globally, the Plasencia Cosecha 151 La Tradición Toro utilizes tobaccos from the 2013-2015 harvests. The maduro wrapper undergoes a 90-day fermentation process using oak wood, contributing to its oily sheen and color consistency. This release marks the first time Plasencia has combined Jamastran valley ligero leaves with Talanga-grown seco tobaccos in a single blend.
