The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Generacion V Salomon reflects five generations of tobacco cultivation expertise from the Plasencia family. Made entirely with Nicaraguan tobaccos aged in the Plasencia family’s reserves, this box-pressed Salomon vitola combines leaves from four regions: Estelí, Condega, Jalapa, and Ometepe. The Criollo ’98 wrapper encases a blend of vintage tobaccos selected for their compatibility with the Salomon’s tapered shape.
Construction and Blend
This Nicaraguan puro uses a Habano wrapper grown in Jalapa, paired with filler tobaccos aged between 5-10 years. The Salomon’s 7” length and 57 ring gauge feature a dual taper designed to concentrate flavors at the foot before expanding through the smoking session. Box-pressing ensures structural integrity while accommodating the cigar’s curved form.
Flavor Development
- Initial notes: Dark chocolate, espresso, and black pepper dominate the first third.
- Mid-profile: Toasted cedar and leather emerge, accompanied by nutmeg undertones.
- Final third: Dried fruit and caramel sweetness surface as the burn reaches the wider portion.
The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Generacion V Salomon maintains an even draw due to its hybrid binder leaves, which balance airflow across the Salomon’s variable ring gauge. Combustion remains consistent despite the vitola’s curvature, with ash holding for over an inch.
Smoking Experience
Designed for 90+ minutes of smoking time, the Salomon’s tapered foot intensifies initial flavor concentration before gradually revealing layered nuances. The box-pressed shape prevents canoeing, while the 57-ring gauge mid-section allows optimal heat distribution for slower combustion.
