The Montecristo Open J Cigar appears in two distinct formats within the Open Series. The Cañonazo variant measures 50 ring gauge and 6 1/8 inches (155 mm), while the Trabuco format features a 38 ring gauge and 4 3/8-inch length. Both versions use Cuban-grown Vuelta Abajo tobaccos and long-filler construction.

The Cañonazo format produces creamy, woody flavors with cedar accents, fresh herbal tones, and traces of toasted nuts. The shorter Trabuco variant maintains medium strength with similar core notes of cedar and herbs, adding light spice alongside its nutty sweetness. A smooth draw characterizes both formats, supported by even combustion and solid ash formation.
