The Montecristo No.3 measures 5 5/8 inches (142 mm) with a 42-ring gauge, positioning it between the shorter No.4 and the longer No.2 in the brand’s numbered series. Its blend combines smoke-cured wood flavors with bitter mocha coffee notes, balanced by medium-intensity tobacco. The cigar uses aged leaves from Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo region, known for optimal growing conditions.
Constructed with a tripa larga entera (long filler) method, the Montecristo No.3 maintains consistent airflow and combustion properties. The Corona format’s proportions allow gradual flavor development across the smoking session. Cuban torcedores hand-roll each unit using a capote leaf binder and dark Colorado Maduro wrapper.
Production adheres to Montecristo’s quality protocols, including 90-day fermentation cycles and triple-stage sorting of filler leaves. While milder than the No.2’s Piramides shape, the No.3 delivers comparable complexity through its blend of Seco and Ligero tobaccos from San Juan y Martínez farms.
