The Montecristo Wide Edmundo Cigar features a 54-ring gauge and 4 7/8-inch length, making it the thickest regular-production vitola in the Edmundo line. Introduced at the 2021 Habanos World Days, it carries a secondary band identifying the vitola name in yellow. Rolled as a Duke No. 3 format, this Cuban cigar uses aged tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region’s premier plantations.
Construction and Combustion
Handcrafted with a triple-seam cap, the Montecristo Wide Edmundo Cigar demonstrates a firm pack density. The blend incorporates seco, ligero, and volado leaves, achieving medium-bodied strength with balanced combustion. The 54-ring gauge allows slower heat dispersion, extending the smoking duration to 90+ minutes.
Flavor Development
Initial draws reveal cedar and roasted almond notes, transitioning to espresso and dried fig in the second third. The final segment introduces white pepper and mineral undertones. The Montecristo Wide Edmundo Cigar maintains a creamy texture through its progression, with a clean finish devoid of bitterness.
