The H. Upmann Magnum 50 debuted at the 2008 Festival del Habano in Havana as a commemorative release by Habanos S.A. This Double Robusto vitola measures 6 1/4 inches in length with a 50-ring gauge, joining the Magnum 46 (5 5/8 inches x 46-ring gauge) to form a series catering to larger-format preferences. Originally released in 2005 as a maduro-wrapped Limited Edition, the Magnum 50 is available in cabinet-selection slide-lid boxes of 25, 10, or single cigars.
Composed entirely of tobacco from Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo region, the Magnum 50 features a Colorado wrapper with visible oil sheen. The blend delivers flavors of cedar, roasted nuts, and earthiness in initial thirds, transitioning to cocoa, leather, and sweet spices. Its medium-bodied strength and open draw promote consistent combustion, producing dense smoke output.
The Magnum 50’s 50-ring gauge extends smoking duration while allowing gradual flavor development. Packaging options include 10-count boxes for accessibility alongside traditional 25-count cabinets. This vitola reinforces H. Upmann’s portfolio alongside the Magnum 46, first introduced 25 years prior.
