The Hiram & Solomon Fellow Craft Toro derives its name from medieval craft guild hierarchies, representing a medium-bodied cigar within the Masonic series. Its filler combines Nicaraguan Habano-seed tobaccos from Jalapa, Ometepe, and Estelí regions. A dark Habano Oscuro wrapper from Ecuador encases an Indonesian Sumatra binder, creating flavors of milk chocolate, black pepper, mineral undertones, and raw earth. The 6" x 52 toro format provides 90 minutes of smoking time with a medium-plus intensity profile.
Construction utilizes an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper noted for its oily sheen and durability. Nicaraguan and Dominican long-filler tobaccos are layered to ensure even combustion. Initial draws reveal cedar and white pepper, transitioning to coffee grounds and roasted cocoa in the second third. A mild caramel sweetness emerges near the final segment, accompanied by increased pepper intensity. The open draw produces dense smoke output with a straight ash formation.
Primary tasting notes include:
- Earth and mineral core from Estelí filler
- Chocolate tones via Ometepe tobacco
- Pepper spice attributed to Jalapa leaves
- Cedar accents from the Sumatra binder
This Hiram & Solomon Fellow Craft Toro maintains a 15-20 minute per-third burn rate at 68-70% humidity. Pairing compatibility extends to aged rums, bourbons above 45% ABV, and espresso-based beverages. The cigar ships in a cedar-lined box with 20-count packaging, requiring 60-65% RH storage for optimal performance.
