The Trinidad Topes Cigar originates from a lineage that began with the Fundadores size. In 2003, the brand expanded to include Reyes, Coloniales, and Robusto Extra, followed by the Robusto T in 2009. Historically produced at El Laguito, the Cohiba factory, Trinidad cigars utilize filler and binder leaves from Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo zone in Pinar del Río.
Construction and Blend
The Trinidad Topes Cigar measures 4 7/8 inches (110mm) with a 56-ring gauge, crafted in a Robusto format. Its blend features Vuelta Abajo tobacco, including a slightly oily wrapper that ensures consistent airflow and even combustion. The cigar is hand-rolled using Cuban expertise, maintaining the brand’s technical standards.
Flavor Profile
Initial notes of cedar, earth, and leather transition into roasted coffee and cocoa mid-way. The final third introduces dark chocolate, sweet spices, and a peppery finish. The absence of sweetness is offset by layered flavors derived from aged Vuelta Abajo leaves.
