Description

The Partagas Serie D No.5 debuted in 2008 as an Edicion Limitada release before becoming a regular production cigar in 2011. This Cuban cigar features a 50 ring gauge and 110mm length, classified as a Petit Robusto format. Its compact size delivers a concentrated smoking session suitable for shorter timeframes while retaining the brand's signature full-bodied intensity.

Construction utilizes a dark, oily Cuban-seed wrapper leaf that ensures consistent combustion. The blend combines aged ligero and seco tobaccos from Vuelta Abajo, producing a dense smoke output with balanced draw resistance. Flavor progression unfolds through three stages:

  • Initial third: Black pepper and charred oak dominate
  • Middle third: Earth tones transition to bitter cocoa
  • Final third: Leather and mineral undertones emerge

Nicotine strength builds gradually from medium to full-bodied, with retrohale intensity peaking in the final third. The cigar maintains structural integrity without requiring relights, completing in approximately 45 minutes. Current production batches show improved wrapper elasticity compared to early Edicion Limitada versions.

As the smallest vitola in the Serie D lineup, the No.5 complements its larger counterparts like the No.4 Robusto and No.6 Mareva. Habanos SA classifies this format under their "Short Smoke" category, targeting enthusiasts seeking condensed flavor experiences.
