Description

The Cohiba Siglo I Cigar was released in 1992 as part of the Siglo series commemorating the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's New World voyage. The brand name originates from the indigenous Taíno word for tobacco, later adopted by Cuba’s diplomatic-exclusive cigar program before commercialization. Measuring 110mm (4.3 inches) with a 42-ring gauge, this Petit Corona format uses aged tobacco from Vuelta Abajo’s San Juan y Martínez and San Luis districts.

Each Cohiba Siglo I Cigar in the 3-tubos pack is housed in aluminum tubes for humidity control and portability. The blend opens with cream and cedar notes, transitioning to flavors of roasted coffee beans and light leather. The combustion characteristics include an even burn rate and medium smoke density.

  • Format: Petit Corona (110mm x 42 ring gauge)
  • Wrapper: Cuban-seed Corojo
  • Packaging: Triple aluminum tubos with cedar linings
  • Strength classification: Medium-bodied

Historical context notes the Siglo series expanded Cohiba’s catalog beyond the original Linea Clásica. The Cohiba Siglo I Cigar remains distinct from larger Siglo vitolas through its concentrated flavor delivery in a shorter smoking duration.
