Released in 1992 as part of the Siglo series commemorating Columbus' New World discovery, the Cohiba Siglo I Cigar measures 4.3" long with a 42-ring gauge. This Petit Corona variant uses Vuelta Abajo tobacco leaves aged in Cuban facilities, presented in aluminum tubos for humidity protection. The blend features a triple-fermented tripa larga core wrapped in a Colorado Claro leaf.
Initial flavors present cedar and cream notes transitioning to roasted coffee mid-smoke. The combustion maintains consistent heat distribution through its 25-minute duration. Construction employs binder leaves from San Juan y Martínez alongside seco leaves from San Luis for combustion stability.
- Ring Gauge: 42 (16.67mm)
- Tobacco Origin: Vuelta Abajo Pinar del Río
- Wrapper Type: Natural Colorado Claro
Originally created for diplomatic purposes in 1966, Cohiba became commercially available in 1982. The Siglo I's aluminum tube preserves moisture levels between 65-70% RH without humidification devices. This format suits short smoking sessions while retaining the brand's signature flavor progression from sweet spices to earthy undertones.
