Since 1845, the Robaina family has cultivated tobacco on their vegas (fields) in Cuchillas de Barbacoa, located in the San Luis district of Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo tobacco zone. This region is recognized for producing premium tobacco leaves used in Habanos cigars. The Vegas Robaina brand debuted in 1997 as a homage to Cuban tobacco growers, symbolized by Don Alejandro Robaina, renowned for cultivating exceptional wrapper leaves during his lifetime.

The cigars highlight tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo zone, specifically the San Luis district, where the Robaina family’s expertise in wrapper leaf production originated. The brand’s creation acknowledges the collective contribution of Cuban tobacco farmers whose skills sustain Habanos’ quality standards. Vegas Robaina cigars use leaves grown in the same fields cultivated by the family for over 170 years.

As a tribute brand, Vegas Robaina emphasizes the agricultural legacy of Cuba’s tobacco-growing regions. The Famosos vitola measures 48 x 127mm (5”) in ring gauge and length, featuring a classic Cuban blend of Vuelta Abajo-secured filler and binder tobaccos beneath the family’s signature wrapper leaves.
