The Montecristo Edmundo Cigar derives its name from Alexandre Dumas' literary character Edmundo Dantès. Introduced in 2004 as the first addition to Montecristo's core range since 1971, this 52-ring gauge parejo vitola measures 135mm (5.3") in length. Habanos SA developed this format using Vuelta Abajo tobaccos grown in Cuba's Pinar del Río region, with leaves aged 2-3 years for fermentation.
Each cigar features tripa larga construction - long filler leaves hand-rolled by expert torcedores. The blend combines ligero and seco leaves from the upper and middle sections of tobacco plants, creating a medium-to-full bodied profile. Flavor notes transition from earthy cedar and leather to subtle coffee bean and mineral undertones, characteristic of Habanos' signature terroir-driven complexity.
- 52 ring gauge (20.64mm) x 135mm parejo format
- Handmade with long-filler tobacco leaves
- Triple-sealed aluminum tubo packaging
- Minimum 2-year aged wrapper leaves
The Montecristo Edmundo 3 Tubos pack presents cigars in individual protective metal tubes, preserving optimal 65-70% humidity levels. This format maintains the cigar's structural integrity during transport while allowing gradual flavor development through controlled airflow.
