Handmade at Tabacalera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic, the VegaFina Original Corona uses tobacco from Vegas Finas plantations known for mineral-rich soil and optimal growing conditions. The blend combines Dominican fillers with Nicaraguan and Honduran leaves, wrapped in an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade-grown wrapper. This 5¾" x 42 corona format cigar contains aged tobaccos from Colombia and Nicaragua in its binder and filler composition.
The construction features a golden-brown wrapper with visible seams and minimal veins. A triple-seam cap ensures structural integrity, while the 42-ring gauge provides compact smoke density. The cold draw reveals earthy notes with faint cedar undertones before lighting.
Combustion & Flavor Development
Initial combustion produces a 1mm charcoal line with minimal touch-ups required. The ash maintains solid cohesion for 25-30mm segments before dropping. Flavor transitions occur in three phases:
- First third: Creamy cashew and wheat toast notes
- Middle third: Development of roasted coffee beans and black pepper spice
- Final third: Emergence of dark chocolate undertones with cedar accents
Smoke output measures 25-30 cubic centimeters per minute at optimal draw resistance.
Pairing & Performance Specifications
The 68-minute burn time remains consistent across 25 cigars per box, with humidity levels maintained at 65-68% RH in tubos packaging. Pairing compatibility spans pH-balanced mineral water to 12-year-aged single malt Scotch. The 1.5" band design allows effortless removal without wrapper damage during smoking.
Box codes indicate 18-month minimum aging at the factory before shipment. Storage recommendations suggest 60-65% humidity environments using Spanish cedar trays for optimal aroma preservation.
