The Hoyo de Monterrey Year of the Ox Limited Edition commemorates the 2021 Chinese New Year through a production of 8,888 numbered boxes globally. This 167mm x 48 ring gauge Hermosos No.1 vitola features a unique "Year of the Ox" foot band, following Habanos S.A.'s tradition of zodiac-themed releases after 2020's Romeo y Julieta Maravillas 8.

Constructed with a Vuelta Abajo tobacco blend aged using Cuban techniques, the Hoyo de Monterrey Year of the Ox displays an oily wrapper characteristic of Hoyo's Cuban heritage. The combustion properties include an even burn rate and consistent draw observed across production samples.

Flavor progression begins with earthy undertones transitioning through wood and cream textures. Secondary notes reveal leather and roasted coffee elements, attributed to the blend's combination of ligero and seco leaves. A subtle sweetness persists through the combustion line.

Packaging features lacquered boxes with embossed zodiac motifs. Each of the 18 cigars per box carries individual serialization matching the box number. The 48-ring gauge dimensions allow approximately 85 minutes combustion time under standard smoking conditions.
