Released in 2002 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Columbus’ arrival in Cuba, the Cohiba Siglo VI Cigar completes the Siglo series. This Robusto Extra measures 150mm (5 7/8") with a 52-ring gauge, featuring a Corojo wrapper leaf and filler tobaccos exclusively from Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo region. The blend undergoes triple fermentation to achieve its medium-to-full strength profile.
The construction showcases Havana’s cigar-making heritage, with a seamless Colorado Maduro wrapper and firm box-press shape. Initial combustion reveals earthy base notes transitioning to layered flavors of roasted coffee beans, bitter cocoa nibs, and aged cedar. Mid-smoke develops subtle white pepper spice and caramelized sweetness from the Seco and Ligero leaves.
Draw consistency characterizes this Cohiba Siglo VI, with smoke output averaging 45-50ml per puff. Burn time extends 85-95 minutes, maintaining an even coal line without relights. The ash forms tight concentric rings, holding firm for 25-30mm segments.
Production occurs at El Laguito factory using selected tobaccos aged 3+ years. Each cigar undergoes triple quality checks for density, wrapper integrity, and draw resistance (0.8-1.2 inches H₂O). Box codes include factory (AB), month (MZ), and year (23) identifiers for traceability.
